Are you looking for a 2010 Chevrolet Tahoe?
Q: I have a vibration in my 2000 Chevrolet Tahoe. How do I get rid of it?
The vibration is at it’s worse between 45-55 mph. There is some vibration below, and some above the aforementioned. I have had the tires balanced and the front end aligned. That didn’t seem to help. There is even some vibration when sitting still, car in drive, and foot on brake. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.
A: YOU NEED TO DETERMINE IF THE VIBRATION IS POWERTRAIN RELATED AT THE SPEEDS YOU INDICATED. DRIVE THE VEHICLE TILL VIBRATION OCCURS STEADY. PLACE TRANSMISSION IN NEUTRAL(LET ENGINE IDLE). DOES VIBRATION GO AWAY. IF VIBRATION IS GONE THEN PROBLEM IS IN POWERTRAIN. POSSIBLY ENGINE TRANSMISION OR DRIVE SHAFT. IF VIBRATION REMAINS WITH TRANS IN NEUTRAL THEN THE MOST LIKELY CAUSE IS TIRE OR WHEELS. IF TIRE OR WHEEL RELATED, HAVE TIRES AND WHEELS CHECKED FOR RUNOUT(OUT OF ROUND CONDITION) AND HAVE TIRES ROAD FORCE BALANCED(THIS REQUIRES A SPECIAL BALANCING MACHINE(HUNTER GSP9700). BALANCING ALONE WILL NOT FIX TIRE IRREGULARITIES. TIRES MAY ULTIMATELY NEED TO BE REPLACED WITH SOME QUALITY NAME BRAND TIRES. LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU FIND ON YOUR ROAD TEST.
Q: How do I reprogram a keyless remote for a 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe?
The battrery in my keyless remote went dead and I replaced it now the remote will not work. So what must I do to get the remote clicker to work again?
A: If you installed a new battery its really easy.Point the remote toward the center of the dash.Push and hold the lock and unlock buttons on the remote. This will take up to 15 seconds. When the doors lock and unlock release the buttons. Its that easy. This is called remote resynchronizing and is necessary after all battery changes.Best of luck with your tahoe.
Q: Does anyone know if there is a cargo cover for a 1996 Chevrolet Tahoe?
I have been trying to locate one for weeks. I presume they make them because I have the holes for them to fit into in the back of my car, I just can’t find one. I have looked on ebay and the internet but no luck. Does anyone happen to know of where I could possibly find one? Thank you.
A: You should try your local Chevy parts dept.If this cover is still made they can get you one.If not they will be able to tell you where you might get one.Best of luck with your Tahoe.
Q: How do you fold the middle seat in a 2003 chevrolet tahoe LT?
I’ve looked and tried the instructions in the manual, but I don’t see the little hook the manual says should be there. I don’t know if the seat is broken or what is going. PLZ someone help!
A: there is either a button on the top of the passenger seat on the back or you pul up and out on the back of the bottom seat cushion depending on what trim model you have
Q: I have a 1994 Chevrolet S10 Blazer Tahoe 4×4 with electronic 4×4 button?
I have a 1994 Chevrolet S10 Blazer Tahoe 4×4 with electronic 4×4. When i push the 4wd button to switch to 4wd, the light switches but the 4wd won’t engage until I keep hitting the button to low and high over and over. Electronic and wiring are great. Can you help me with my problem. PLEASE
Could it be anything else??
A: Transfer case control module. I would try pulling the TCCM fuse for a few min. If that dont work you could look at the motor that engages the front hubs. Should be on the back of the front diff.
Q: Do i have factory trailer brakes on a 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe z71?
I have a 7 wire female plug on the bumper, but no dash lights or indicators when the trailer is hooked up. It is a 22ft all steel dovetail car hauler with dual axle brakes.
A: No, GM didn’t start putting in factory trailer brakes until the most recent silverado redesign and even then it is still an option separate from the tow package. The 7 wire plug will allow you to keep the same plug with whatever electric brake actuator you choose to install, but if you follow that wire, you will typically find it dead ends part way up the chassis and is tied off, waiting for your brake controller install. Just make sure to stay within the tongue weight and trailer weight limits, probably with a load distributing hitch and sway control due to tahoe’s short wheel base.
Q: I cant start my 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe because the anti-theft system is on. How do I deactivate it?
A: To begin, did you replace the battery in your remote, if you have one? Did you make a PROGRAMMED spare key before this occurred? Your usual key may have been magnetized or damaged. Are you using a non-security copy of your key? If its none of these, then tow it to the Chevy dealer. Or Google the question and see if someone has a work around for you.
Q: My 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe with the bose system sometimes doesn’t produce sound and neither the door chime?
The radio works intermittently. If i start my car and I dont get teh chime, I know the radio wont work. It then will not work the whole time I have my car running. If I hear the door chime when I start my car the radio works fine. Any Help?
A: i think your radio is dead, when is the burial? better return the car to your dealer and let him check out your system if he can resurrect the dead sound sytem
Q: Does Anyone make an outside rear spare tire mount for a 92-99 chevrolet tahoe?
I HAVE BEEN FISHING TO FIND OUT IF THERE IS A SWINGING OUTSIDE REAR SPARE TIRE MOUNT FOR 92-99 CHEVROLET BLAZER/TAHOE MODELS AND I CANT SEEM TO FIND ANY, AND I HAVE SEEN ONE BEFORE BUT I DONT KNOW IF IT WAS CUSTOM OR NOT. DOES ANY BODY KNOW WHERE I CAN FIND ONE?
A: JC Whitney used to sell them but I don’t know if they do anymore. They were so fugly and bulky looking they turned me off immediately. If you want to carry your spare outside, consider tying it to the roof rack.
Q: Gas mileage of a GM Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid?
Can someone who’s driven a Chevy Tahoe Hybrid tell me what their experience is with respect to the real gas mileage of the vehicule?
A: If you drive 55mph with the A/C off, no traffic and one helluva light foot you might get 20mpg. That is how the EPA rates it. GM only really developed it to get environment freaks off there case. One of my friends purchased it and he rarely gets over 20mpg, but it is still better than 16mpg in his old Tahoe…
Q: I have a 98′ Chevrolet Tahoe LT. What are some good things to have done to keep things up on the engine?
i.e. oil change, transmission fluid…so what are some other thing I can do to keep my engine working nice? I have about 160k on it, and I have replaced several parts already, and she’s running fine, I just want to keep it that way.
Re: Frank
How often should I change my spark plugs?
A: keep up with oil changes, no more then 5k on a change. take it to a reputable shop for oil changes, most good ones that are not trying to rip you off will look at stuff while under the car and tell you if anything is needed work or will need work. radiator flushes. rotate and balance tires every 12k. do tune ups at proper intervals with reccomended parts and a good air filter also with that mileage, drive it like a grandma would will only help
Q: How to disconnect the “SPEEDOMETER” on my 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe?
I wanna know how 2 disconnect the speedometer. Not from the transmission but from the back of the instrument cluster… Wich wires do I need 2 cut in order 2 do this? Please help me out. I know that there’s someone out there that can help me….
A: Since you stressed speedometer, then it sounds like your not trying to fudge your mileage (which you cannot do anyway). You will need to get an electrical schematic and see what color wire in the harness on the back of the instrument cluster you need to disconnect. But why?!
FYI, the mileage is stored in the ECU. And you cannot disconnect the pick up in the tranny because it is required for the transmission to operate (know when to shift).
Q: I have a 97 Chevrolet Tahoe that is making a humming noise somewhere under the truck around the bk & fr doors?
Someone told me it was the fuel pump and another person said it was the catilytic convertor. Does anyone know whats causing the noise?
it started about 2 weeks ago and I here it from the drivers side more than the passenger side and yes it does make the noise in idle when I first start it ther’s no noise and as it warms up the noise starts and gradually get louder and louder.
A: I would have to say you are hearing the fuel pump run, very high pitched noise. These models were known for their fuel pumps being noisy. Try changing the filter, if it is cloged the pump has to work harded. It may make noise for a long time and never give any real problems. These are sold as a until with the fuel sending unit and pump installed, pretty pricey item.
Q: Hi, I wanted to know how many of you have or have owned a Chevrolet Tahoe and?
how they are to have as vehicles? As far as how they drive, handle, mechanical problems they may be prone to, etc. I am needing more room as far as vehicle goes because I am expecting my second child and am seriously considering getting a Tahoe, but wanted some feedback from those that have experienced one of them. Thanks.
A: I have had the full size and the s-10 versions of the trucks and had good luck with both of them. The full size had a V-8 in it and didnt really get very good gas mileage. The S-10 version gets better mileage but is a little cramped on the interior for long drives. Either would be a good choice for you though. They are both safe stable and reliable vehicles.
As far as how they handle, they are both good on and off road. They are well balanced and the four wheel drive works great. I had mine all through the woods on trails and never got stuck. Hope I have been helpful.
Q: Will the Chevrolet Tahoe 2008 Hybrid become economical?
By 2008, Chevrolet will reveal a new Tahoe Hybrid. WIll it be more economical? What is your estimate on the gas mileage? Just a wild guess. Can it reach like morea than 12 Kilometers Per Liter if moving at real slow speeds? It has an electric powered engine when there is no need for that much power anyway… What do you think?
A: Will it be more economical? Yes.
Will it be enough to care? I doubt it.
I’d love for GM to prove me wrong, but take a look at a hybrid vehicle that they already make: The Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck. The non-hybrid version gets 15 miles per gallon in city driving, and the hybrid gets…
…wait for it…
…16 miles per gallon.
As usual, GM was late to see the direction that the marketplace was heading. As usual, when they realized that they were late, they started telling everyone that hybrids were a short-term fad, and that hydrogen fuel cells were “the future.” As usual, when spreading that misinformation didn’t work, they half-heartedly started development of hybrids themselves.
A pickup that gets 16mpg instead of 15mpg?
Sorry, but I won’t buy the first hybrid Tahoe.
